The Spitfire was conceived as an interceptor with high speed, heavy armament, high rate of climb and the agility to make repeated attacks as well as to fight off escorting aircraft. Its characteristic elliptical wing shape, thinner than any other fighter of the day, coupled with an innovative aerodynamic ducted radiator produced extra power worth 70 hp at 300 mph.

This kit is a 1:9 scale flying model. Not only is this a great rubber powered aircraft, this jumbo model is also very popular for conversion to electric or gas powered flight. Pre-1942 design, eligible for Society of Antique Modelers (SAM) contests.

This free flight rubber powered kit contains a full-size rolled plan, building and flying instructions, hand picked printed balsa and balsa stripwood, vacuum-molded spinner, clear plastic for the windshield, wheels, landing gear wire, 12" EB propeller, EBM thrust bearing, TissueCal™ markings, and Easy Built Lite tissue in light sky blue and olive green. To build this model you will need a building board, hobby knife, fine sandpaper, and glue.
