Private Pilot Airplane Course Requirements

The FAA Requires a Minimum of 40 Flight Training Hours. The National Average is 50-60 flight training hours.

Course pricing: Total minimum package cost is $5600.00 ( 20 hours with an instructor and 20 hours of solo time in a single engine airplane at $115/hr and $50/hr instructor rate).

Private pilot package minimum includes:

20 Hours of Dual Instruction

10 Hours of Solo Area Operations Training (Basic Flight Maneuvers)

Three Hours of Night Flight Training

10 Take-Offs and Landings to a Full Stop at night

Three Hours of Cross-Country Flight Training

One Hour of Cross-Country Night Flying

Three Hours of Instrument Training & Unusual Flight Attitudes

10 Hours of Solo Time Including: Five Hours of Solo Cross-Country Time

One Solo Cross-Country of 150+ nm with Full Stop Landings at Three Airports At least one segment must be 50nm or more.

Three Take-Offs and Full Stop Landings at a Tower-Controlled Airport

Three Hours of Practical Test Preparation Training

In addition, students must prepare for the FAA Written Test and learn aviation related items such as Airport Operations, Airspace, Aircraft Weight & Balance, Aircraft Systems, Chart Reading and Navigation Principles, Equipment Operation, etc.

Upon completion of the requirements and proven competency, students will prepare for, and take the Check-Ride, the final exam, to receive a log book endorsement as a newly-licensed Single-Engine Land Pilot.
