Heavy Lifter
The Ariel UAS is an Amphibian system capable of being fitted with modular payloads that can contain humanitarian aid such as food, water and medical supplies. Capable of delivering up to sixteen 9-13 person, air deploy-able self-inflating life rafts. The Ariel can act as an airborne cell / communications tower and utilize powerful thermal imaging cameras and sensors. Sensors that can be used to locate flood victims or detect hot spots from lightning strikes or other ignition sources. Upon detection, the coordinates can be passed to first responders / firefighters who can proceed directly to the identified location. Enabling them to Investigate, rescue victims or suppress potentially life threatening fires.
Moreover, the Ariel is able to carry heavy payloads for applications such as humanitarian aid and support, disaster relief, quick equipment dispatch and fire suppression. Truly an Innovation, a “Flying Swiss Army Knife” with an unrivaled capacity to adapt and provide a multitude of solutions to challenging applications.
Drone America’s concept is to use the larger production Ariel Scooper Drone™ UAS for chasing storms, import NOAA lightning strike locations into UAS autopilot data base and then scan thermal images of each strike with pin point accuracy. In the event of a hot spot the sensor operator has the ability to deploy as an initial attack to suppress potential wild fires. This UAS would have an 1,000 Gal 8,500 lbs. payload capacity, day and night capability. Autonomous fire attack and Scooping is our goal, wher early detection and early suppression save lives, property and saves tax payers money.
The Ariel system can also be used to transport Oil, Diesel even water to remote locations when not being utilized as a Fire Bomber. The Ariel Unmanned Aircraft System is currently available for special order, please contact us for further information.
Design
Helping Hand
With 500 lbs. of payload space, the Ariel is able carry and supply emergency supplies and equipment in emergency situations.
Modular
The Ariel is completely modular for ease of storage and field maintenance. The main wings and sponsons fold to minimize its footprint to a small mission ready configuration.
Camera and Sensors
Several cameras and sensors can be installed and configured for specific needs and missions, such as Visible, Thermal, Infrared, UV, Multi-spectral, Hyper-spectral, Atmospheric and Photogrammetry.
Amphibian
The Ariel and it’s payload(s) can be optionally configured for water landing and take-off operations.
Modular
Modular equipment provides multi-role unmanned amphibious system capabilities for land and water deployment, air support and retrieval havin high endurance for long range sorties. Deployed from land or water which could be configured for launch and retrieval from undersea or surface vehicles. Drone America’s Ariel UAS is completely modular for ease of storage and field maintenance. The main wings and sponsons fold to minimize its footprint to a small mission ready configuration. Multiple engine configurations are available wher either fuel economy or max performance of speed and power are required. Additionally, the UAS can be configured for alternative applications such as an airborne communications relay or an effective ECM (Electronic Counter Measures) platform.
Why an amphibian?
The water on the earth occupies 71% of the planet, leaving land and us to occupy 29%. The definition of an Amphibian UAS is an aircraft that can land on land or water. It has a distinct advantage over a land based aircraft especially when used in or around large bodies of water. Our current design has a relatively low impact on aerodynamic efficiency due to the hull shape and the required increased structural load bearing capability resulting in additional weight.
