Overview:

If you are looking to make flying part of your professional life, the commercial pilot is a must. Whether you will be employed and fly for an airline, charter/cargo or corporate flight department or teach as a flight instructor – you can carry persons (or property/cargo for compensation with this rating.

EFA emphasizes training pilots in aeronautical decision making and cockpit resource management (CRM). Our focus on human factors and risk management gives you the tools you need to be successful in today’s aviation environment

Your training will be conducted primarily in our Piper Arrow, which meets the FAA requirements for complex airplanes (retractable landing gear, flaps and a controllable pitch propeller).

The basic requirements to obtain your rating are:

FAA Part 141 – minimum # of hours at the end of course:

190 total hours logged in your log book

Ground training

55 hours of dual flight training (includes 10+ hours in the Arrow)

65 hours of solo flight training

FAA Part 61 – minimum # of hours at the end of course

250 total hours logged in your log book

100 hours as pilot-in command

10 hours of instrument training

10 hours complex aircraft training

Cross-country, night flights

Ground training
