Earn your Single Engine Sea Float Rating in Alaska while exploring the added freedom of flying a 180 horsepower PA-18 Super Cub on floats. You will learn single engine float flying in our Super Cub while discovering the numerous lakes in Alaska as well as exploring the upper Susitna valley. Mount McKinley, which is the highest mountain peak in Alaska, will be a constant backdrop.

Our Alaska Float Rating course includes normal, rough, glassy water, and confined area takeoffs and landings, idle, step and plow taxiing using our Super Cub. The Alaska float rating course also covers docking, ramping, beaching, and even a little fishing on the side! The single engine float rating course consists of 2 hours of ground instruction per day along with 2 flights per day in a single engine sea Super Cub. Check ride is on the third day.
