Aurora was contracted to build the horizontal tail for the new line of Gulfstream G500 aircraft. The horizontal tail program uses the automated fiber placement machine (AFP) in Aurora’s Mississippi facility and is continuing to produce parts. The manufacturing process includes producing AFP-fabricated spars and skins measuring over 30 feet and a multi-part co-cure process using removable rubber tooling.
