Details
The original Douglas DC-3 made her maiden flight in 1935, and was a milestone in commercial flight. With the DC-3, air travel became financially viable and thus very popular, so that by the 1950's this aircraft was so multitudinous that it could be encountered on airfields all over the world. As with the original, good flight characteristics, coupled with the ease with which it will take-off and land, make this model ideal for those wishing to enter the world of twin-engine flight. Should one motor fail, the DC-3 still remains controllable, although, as also with other twin engine models, the rudder should not be used to control direction with one motor dead. Precision components, comprehensive instructions, and many helpful hints make building the DC-3 a pleasurable experience, and with the option of integrating flaps and retracting landing gear, it is possible not only to enhance this model visually, but also considerably improve it`s flight performance, and turn the DC-3 into a real eye-catcher with the spectators.
