Product Overview
“Built to thrive in the modern battlefield, the extremely capable CH-53K aircraft will be intelligent, reliable, low maintenance and survivable across the full spectrum of operating conditions for which it was designed.” (Sikorsky)
Aurora has partnered with Sikorsky to build the CH-53K engine nacelles, and design and build the CH-53K Main Rotor Pylon (MRP), for which the company was awarded the best-in-class for weight management.
Aurora has built several ground test and flight test structures for the initial trial phase of this vehicle and anticipates being the primary supplier for this structure when the vehicle enters rate production. In 2010 Aurora was awarded Sikorsky Aerostructures Supplier of the year and in 2013 the American Helicopter Society (AHS) Supplier Excellence Award for our work on the CH-53K program. MRP production takes place at Aurora’s composites production facility in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
