Detailed Description

Founded in 1947 and based in Washington, DC, the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is the leading organization for companies that rely on general aviation aircraft to help make their businesses more efficient, productive and successful. The Association represents more than 10,000 companies and provides more than 100 products and services to the business aviation community, including the NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition, the world's largest civil aviation trade show.
Companies using business aircraft operate within the National Airspace System (NAS) differently than the airlines do. For example, business aircraft tend to fly above or below airline traffic and operate into a far greater number of airports than air carriers do. NBAA has provided resources to allow operators of all sizes of business aircraft to maximize their efficient operation through the National Airspace System.
NBAA's International Operators Committee aids member companies in the facilitation of their international flight operations. The Committee presents a strong and nowledgeable   voice in international aviation affairs through liaison with the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) and other international aviation organizations
NBAA's International Operators Conference outlines the best practices for flight departments providing international transportation for their passengers. The conference provides four days of intense education sessions designed to help flight departments fly safely, securely, efficiently and legally.
The NBAA Management Guide is an industry how-to manual for business aviation management. Recognized as one of NBAA’s most popular Member benefits, this publication assists flight departments with operational, maintenance, administrative and other considerations.
It should be noted that this is not a complete guide for all functions of the flight department; consequently, it does not cover every possible situation faced by business aviation managers. However, the NBAA Management Guide does attempt to summarize essential information concerning the operation of a flight department, including chapters on Administration, Flight Operations, International Operations and Maintenance Operations.
Much of the information contained in this guide may be used as reference material to educate non-aviation company personnel on accepted practices and norms of the business aviation community. One of the essential functions of flight department personnel is to ensure that all company personnel appreciate and understand the operation, capabilities and value of the flight department.
The NBAA Management Guide is an evolving document. In coordination with its standing committees, NBAA periodically issues content revisions for this publication as new information becomes available. The Association welcomes your feedback and questions on this publication. Send all comments to publications@nbaa.org.
