The Aerosoft GmbH(Ltd) was founded in 1991 at Paderborn/Lippstadt Airport. In the early years the main area above all was the development of training software and software for the examination preparation for pilots as well as professional procedure training. As early as 1992 the first additional software ( Add-on ) for the then Microsoft Simulator 4.0 was introduced.
In the 90`s the focus turned to the development and publishing of high-end add-ons for the Microsoft Flight Simulator. Apart from the Add-ons for the Microsoft Flight Simulator, Aerosoft has developed and marketed its own hardware for Flight Simulation since 1992.
In 2002 the first Add-ons for the newly developed Microsoft Train Simulator were introduced and marketed world wide under the brand `Train-World´.
With a total of 25 employees and more than 30 freelance developers worldwide, Aerosoft is at present the leading software publisher of Flight and Train Simulation add-ons offering more than 25 new products every year. The high quality standards of our products have been proved time and again by the many international awards bestowed upon Aerosoft. Increasing interest in our products from airlines, pilots and flight instructors illustrate the reality of today’s PC-Flight Simulators.
Since January 2004 a large part of the development is being co-ordinated by our office in France.
With competent marketing partners in Austria, England, France, Benelux, Scandinavia, Spain, Switzerland, Australia, Hungary, Mexico, Australia and the U.S.A., 50% of Aerosoft turnover comes from international markets .
Apart from marketing via retailers, department stores and distributors Aerosoft has from the very beginning also delivered direct to end users via our web shop. At the moment Aerosoft has more than 120,000 registered direct customers.
