Introduction
Airbus Military and Cassidian units have combined their capabilities for design, development, delivery and support of military aircraft to form the leading fixed military aircraft company in Europe. With Cassidian’s technology portfolio and Airbus Military’s export and development experience, the new business line has got a broad, world-wide customer base and is well placed to play a leading role in the markets for future unmanned aerial system (UAS) and combat, transport and ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) aircraft.

Airbus DS, which has its own P&L accounting, is an Airbus SAS daughter company. based in Europe but with a global reach, Airbus is the leading commercial aircraft manufacturer which consistently obtained more than 50 per cent market share over the past ten years. Airbus DS is an Airbus Group company In 2010, Airbus Military had a turn-over of € 2.7 billion.

Headquartered in Madrid (Spain), the company’s facilities are essentially based in Spain. Its main sites are Getafe, close to Madrid, wher the civil Airbus platforms, such as the A330, are converted into Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft, and Seville, wher the San Pablo factory, south of the airport, hosts the A400M Final Assembly Line opened in 2007, as well as the complete production and final assembly of the C212, CN235 and C295 aircraft. Opened in 2010, the all new Airbus Military Training Centre is also located close to the San Pablo facility.

Airbus Military also has facilities in other European countries. The A400M Programme is based in Toulouse, France, with production of the major subassembly sections produced in Filton, (UK), Bremen (Germany), Nantes and St Nazaire in France, with other parts produced in Belgium as well as Turkey and Malaysia. Airbus Military also owns two facilities in Poland, one in Warsaw and one in Mielec, wher the Orlik TCII is developed and produced.
