Ascent productions is led by experienced TV producer Matt Richards. After fourteen years with the BBC, working on news, features and documentaries in the UK and around the world, Matt is now bringing his skills to Ascent.
As an accomplished Producer/Director and Series Producer, Matt has worked on some of the most demanding productions, including filming two series of the acclaimed documentary series Helicopter Heroes Down Under. He's also worked on a range of well-known emergency and medical shows in the UK, including the award-winning Children's Emergency Rescue, Keeping Britain Alive, and six series of Helicopter Heroes.
He's recently also produced current affairs films for The One Show, history strands for The People Remember and a range of news features around the world for Inside Out.
Matt is now Series Producing a second 15-part series of Helicopter ER with Air Television for UKTV.
As an experienced filmmaker and qualified drone pilot with a passion for outdoor adventure, Matt and Ascent Productions are well suited to innovative and dynamic television production.
