Mantua Model UK Ltd, was formed in 1997 as part of the Mantua Model group of Italy, one of the largest model manufacturers in the world. Mantua Model manufacture all types of boat, ship, aircraft and car kits, and are renowned for their wooden model ship kits.
Our most famous ship is the H.M.S. Victory and we have four sizes of this in our range. Other well known ships include the Cutty Sark, Endeavour, H.M.S. Bounty and Amerigo Vespucci along with radio control model boats such as the Bruma motor yacht and Anteo tug.
We can suppy all the materials, tools and parts needed to make these highly detailed wooden models. We can also supply model boat and ship fittings and parts including portholes, deadeyes, blocks, stanchions and rigging ropes.
Also made within the factory are model aircraft by Aviomodelli and Mantua. Some of the aeroplanes are semi pre-formed models with Duraflex fuselages and foam wings, as well as the traditional model planes in wood with laser cut parts.
Mantua Model have also been producing model car kits for over 30 years with the first model car kit being a flat chassis model racing car kit, very basic but light and very fast. They then produced the first 1/8th model car kit the Maggiolino ( Beetle) with a pull start, .21 model engine. Mantua model now also produce the famous range of OPS engines powering many model cars, planes and boats to world titles.
We have one of the largest ranges of wood consisting of balsa wood from Papua New Guinea a very white high quality Balsa wood along with Walnut, Mahogany, White Maple, Birch Plywood and lime wood.
