Tropical Aviation Distributors (TAD) has served the aviation community in the Caribbean and portions of South America continuously since 1984. Our business efforts are devoted to the distribution of new and used aircraft and other aviation related products.
TAD is the exclusive Authorized Sales Representative for Cessna Aircraft Company’s entire product line for the Caribbean and portions of South America (French Guyana, Guyana, and Suriname). Cessna Aircraft Company has built more general aviation aircraft than any other manufacturer and produces a wide range of aircraft, from the single engine piston Skyhawk to the fastest general aviation aircraft in the world, the Citation X. Cessna is recognized as the industry leader in safety, reliability, performance, and innovation. In addition to selling new Cessna aircraft, we provide spare parts, product support, warranty administration, technical support, and training coordination for Cessna operators.
In addition to supporting Cessna aircraft, TAD can provide spare parts and product support for Beechcraft, DeHavilland, Bombardier, Fairchild, Piper and other general aviation aircraft, and are authorized distributors for Garmin, Honeywell (Bendix/King) Avionics, Pratt & Whitney, Thielert, Continental Motors and other manufacturers. Hence, we are able to support the varied demands of the modern aircraft operator, who frequently operates aircraft of various types and models. We also sell and broker used aircraft; lease aircraft; process overhauls; and provide assistance in arranging financing and insurance.
TAD is part of the Africair aviation group, which has owned and operated fixed base operations, charter operations, maintenance facilities, and has operated a fleet of Cessna fixed wing aircraft and Bell helicopters that provided transport for a major oil company and other commercial customers for over thirty-five years. As a result of our experience from these varied operations, we possess a thorough knowledge of aviation operations which enables us to better understand and anticipate the needs of our customers. Africair is the exclusive representative for Cessna Aircraft Company and Bell Helicopter/Textron, Inc. for most of Africa.
Our company is headquartered in Miami, Florida (USA) wher we operate a modern distribution center. Our U.S. base greatly enhances our ability to coordinate shipments from various vendors and, with respect to aircraft sales, enables us to oversee the pre-delivery process to ensure that our customer’s requirements are met. Our product support division is world class. We currently support a hundreds of aircraft and helicopters in our territories and are very familiar with the applicable importation and customs regulations, as well as the best methods of shipment to each country.
The newest addition to the Africair/TAD Group is Tropicars, an authorized distributor of E-Z-GO, Cushman and Garia golf cars, recreational and utility vehicles. E-Z-GO manufactures a full line of golf cars, turf vehicles, and personal and sport vehicles. E-Z- GO also makes utility vehicles designed for use at airports, FBO’s, resorts, ports, farms, military and governmental facilities, residential compounds and many other applications. The Cushman product line includes durable tugs and other vehicles designed for use in the industrial workplace. Garia manufactures the world’s most luxurious golf car and electric personal vehicles. Tropicars also provides parts and accessories for all major brands of golf cars.
TAD’s dedicated and experienced sales and product support personnel are fluent in English, French, German, and Spanish. Our full time product support representatives travel to the Caribbean and South America continuously and are available to answer your technical questions free of charge.
