Information of TTFLY: Raytheon is leading a modernisation effort to incorporate a new system architecture into the US Air Force's (USAF's) Global Hawk ground control station (GCS) that will introduce a common ground controller, similar to the work the company has done for the US Navy.
Raytheon will design a scalable and modular system to improve the unmanned aerial system's (UAS') launch and recovery systems and mission control architecture.
Additionally, Global Hawk operators based at Beale Air Force base, California, and Grand Forks Air Force base, North Dakota, will be moving out of their ConNEX boxes, which have served as UAS flight operations centres, and into new mission control stations.
