Dreamliner, named "Quetzalcoatl", with a special livery.

"Quetzalcoatl, our 787-9 Dreamliner, will fly at 30,000 feet, ready to travel the world," the airline tweeted on its official account.

The 787-9, Registration XA-ADL, is the first out of six 787-9s that Aeromexico has on order, which is expected to be delivered in October before starting operating by the end of the year.

The head of Quetzalcoatl has been placed on both sides at the front of the aircraft adorned with indigenous graphs alongside its white fuselage. This is further complemented with the standard corporate markings of the carrier.

The tail, which is also white, wears the airline's distinctive airline logo -- an eagle warrior -- stamped in blue, and a green outlined wing projected onto it.

According to the airline, the 787-9 Dreamliner will operate the Mexico City-Madrid route initially, replacing the 777 aircraft.

Currently, Aeromexico operates thrice-weekly flights to Shanghai, using its 243-seat 787-8 Dreamliner.

The newly painted 787-9 is also expected to fly around the world in the future and promot Mexican culture.
