There is a classic quote “Rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated.”

Although this blog is weeks after Oshkosh, any rumor that I wasn’t in attendance is greatly exaggerated. Granted, I drove from Oregon to Wisconsin, but I did actually attend and I can put a couple of rumors to rest.

When I arrived on the first day of the event, rumors were swirling that mogas was available for transient aircraft.

Mogas was indeed available at Oshkosh during AirVenture. Basler Flight Service at Wittman Regional Airport (KOSH) confirmed to me that 91 AKI was available. While the FBO took the orders and did the billing, the fuel truck was labeled EAA Mogas, not Basler.

Unfortunately the availability of mogas ceased at the end of event.

I can also confirm that Swift Fuels had its UL94 unleaded avgas available in the Ultralight area. It was actually a few cents a gallon cheaper than the EAA Mogas. Isn’t competition great

There should be trumpets blaring for my next announcement, yet I have seen no other reports in the aviation press

There is unleaded avgas available in California ON AN AIRPORT!

Seems to me, all of the environmental groups and politicians that have been stirring the pot over TEL pollution should be ecstatic. But all I hear is a deafening silence.

Rabbit Aviation at San Carlos (KSQL) can fill your tanks with Swift Fuels UL94 avgas. Oddly, the Rabbit Aviation website says nothing about this offering, while the Swift Fuels map shows that San Carlos has its product.

I confirmed with Rabbit Aviation that it is, indeed, a vendor for UL94, so I have added it to the flyunleaded.com website.

No wonder there is a deafening silence.
