MT-Propeller has received an STC for the next generation 4-blade scimitar composite propeller MTV-14-D/195-30b on the Piper PA-46-310P Malibu.
The new scimitar blade design replaces the older 30a blades for better performance, according to company officials.
According to MT-Propeller President Gerd Muehlbauer, the installation features:
Shorter takeoff distance by approximately -5 % (SL, ISA conditions);
Enhanced climb and cruise performance by approximately 5 to 10% (SL, ISA conditions); and
Enhanced cruise performance by 5 to 8 kts (MTOW, ISA conditions).
The MT-Propeller natural composite blades also provide inside and outside noise reduction, company officials said, adding they have no life limitation, and are repairable in case of an FOD.
