German companies Schiebel Group and arms manufacturer Diehl Defence have renewed their teaming agreement four months after the 10th anniversary of the CAMCOPTER S-100.
The Shiebel S-100 unmanned aerial system (UAS) carries a 75-lb payload with primary applications in intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. Diehl Defence specializes in the integration of different defense systems and surveillance equipment into Germany's navy vessels.
The S-100 also has civil applications, like aerial cinematography. It also has been used successfully as a search and rescue tool, havin assisted the Migrant Offshore Aid Station with the rescue of about 25,000 migrants.
