More than 62,000 fans witnessed the Indianapolis Motor Speedway transform into an airfield as Red Bull Air Race touched down at the iconic speedway for the first time.
German Pilot Matthais Dolderer won the debut Indy race, clinching his first World Championship in the process.
Englishman and 2014 World Champion Nigel Lamb finished second, and Canadian Pete McLeod earned the third spot on the coveted podium.
In the Challenger Class race earlier on Sunday, Luke Czepiela took the first win of his Red Bull Air Race career.

The Red Bull Air Race World Championship will next head to Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Oct. 15-16 for its season finale, wher Dolderer will officially be crowned as champion.
