The operators of some Qantaslink flights have promised to alter safety messages to pilots after incorrect take-off data was entered on a flight from Canberra to Sydney in June.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has concluded an investigation into the June 20 incident, during which the Boeing 717's first officer did not enter updated details into the flight management system after extra passengers were booked onto the flight.

As a result, the flux temperature which helps prolong the engine life of the aircraft did not match the calculations.

Cobham Aviation Services, which employed the crew, agreed to remind pilots to use new take-off and landing data cards if new information is entered.
