A Polar Airlines Antonov AN26-100, registration RA-26660 performing flight PI203 from Yakutsk to Belaya Gora (Russia) with 27 passengers and 6 crew, attempted to land in Belaya Gora but touched down at the banks of river Indigirka near the village due to poor weather. All gear collapsed, the right hand propeller made ground contact and was torn off, the aircraft came to a stop on its belly about 400 meters/1300 feet from the runway. There are no injuries being reported, the aircraft sustained substantial damage.

A passenger reported that they were on approach to Belaya Gora as usual when there was a sudden heavy punch pushing them into their seats and the aircraft skidded to a stop. It was immediately clear they were not at the airport.

No weather information is available, locals reported however that just as the aircraft was on final approach to Belaya Gora a blizzard arrived, the heavy snow fall and fog/snow blown up immediately reduced any visibility to zero.
