China's all-airbus carrier Sichuan Airlines will inaugurate a nonstop flight between Vancouver in Canada and Central China's Zhengzhou city on November 11, which will become the first intercontinental route starting from Henan province.

Airline insiders revealed that the twice-weekly service will be launched every Tuesday and Friday from Nov. 11. The Vancouver-bound flight 3U8501 is scheduled to take off from Zhengzhou at 1:25 p.m. and land in Vancouver at 8:35 a.m., with the return flight 3U8502 leaving Vancouver at 10:25 a.m. and reaching Zhengzhou at 3:00 p.m. (all local times)

Since the beginning of this year, Central China's hub airport Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport has entered a fast lane of development. During the first nine months in 2016, Zhengzhou airport has served a total of 15 million people, of which the number of international and regional passengers broke through a new record of 1.04 million, jumping 14.69 percent year on year.

A series of international and regional routes have been started from Zhengzhou to United Arab Emirates, Rome and so on this year. The to-be-launched Canadian service will historically open Henan's intercontinental route market.
