Tips:Ukrainian privately owned start-up Anda Air is set to become operational with charter flights to the Middle East.

On 22 October, the carrier will start a weekly service from Kiev Zhulyany airport to Aqaba in Jordan.

The following day, it should start serving Egyptian resort Marsa Alam, to which it conducted a trial flight earlier this month.

While using a single 167-seat Boeing MD-83 on both routes, Anda Air will shop around for one or two 737s with the aim of increasing capacity by the beginning of 2017.

"Doubling or trebling it will allow us to add charter services to Bulgaria, Montenegro and Turkey," says the carrier's co-founder and managing director Sergey Shamenko.

"We're looking to enter the scheduled air market over the next two years."
