FLORENCE – The Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport has been awarded a $1.16 million grant to construct a new center, two-way left turn lane on Ted Bushelman Boulevard.
The grant was given by the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments. The half-mile stretch of road in Florence connects Aero Parkway and Houston Road. The new project will enhance the roadway for future development.
“The installation of a new center turn lane on Ted Bushelman will significantly enhance our ability to market and develop additional parcels of land along this area of airport property,” said Candace McGraw, CVG’s chief executive officer.
Construction of the new center lane is targeted for summer 2018 with completion later that year.
In October 2014, OKI approved a $2.5 million grant for the extension of Wendell Ford Boulevard to connect South Airfield Boulevard with Aero Parkway. The project is scheduled for completion in summer 2017.
Earlier this year, CVG announced two long-term lease agreements for this area.
The Bosch Group campus is getting a 180,000-square-foot expansion. VanTrust Real Estate LLC will develop commercial warehouse and distribution facilities on 41 acres along Ted Bushelman Boulevard. Both projects are targeted for completion in 2017.
Part of CVG’s current five-year strategic plan includes land development with a goal to lease approximately 350 acres of land for development by 2021.
