Airbus has taken delivery of more than 40 CFM International Leap-1A engines, as Safran ramps up production of the A320neo powerplant.

These include 22 engines delivered to the airframer over the third quarter, during which the first Leap-powered A320neo was delivered.

Two carriers – Pegasus Airlines and AirAsia – have received Leap-powered A320neos.

CFM partner Safran disclosed the latest delivery figures in its third-quarter financial results.

“Entry into service [at Pegasus] was smooth and aircraft in the fleet are regularly reaching 10 cycles per day,” it says.

It states that flight-testing on the Boeing 737 Max – which is fitted with the Leap-1B – is “on track” for entry into service in the first half of next year, with over 1,200 cycles conducted.

Safran adds that the Leap-1C is “ready” for the first flight of the Comac C919, scheduled for “before year-end”.
