Tips:An American Airlines Boeing 767 was damaged by fire after an aborted takeoff at Chicago O’Hare airport, the Oneworld alliance member says.

Flight 383, a service to Miami, aborted the flight because of an “engine-related issue”, the airline says in a statement.

Pictures and video from the scene did not show obvious damage to either engine, but extensive fire or smoke markings on the belly and the rear right fuselage behind the wing.

Evacuation slides deployed to allow 161 passengers and nine crew members to deplane on the runway, American Airlines says.

The 13-year-old 767-300ER is powered by a pair of GE Aviation CF6-80C2B6 engines, according to Flight Fleets Analyzer.

The aircraft, registered as N345AN, accumulated 49,900h and 8,020 cycles as of August, Fleets Analyzer shows.
