JetBlue Airways announced that it plans to launch Mint service on flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and San Diego on August 17, 2017.

Flights will depart JFK at 9 a.m. and arrive at San Diego International Airport at 11:57 a.m. Flights from San Diego to New York are scheduled to depart at 1:10 p.m. and arrive at 9:41 p.m.

Mint offers passengers a premium cabin with fully lie-flat seats.  Four seats in the cabin are private suites with doors.  The seats in the private suites are 22” wide and extend into an 80”-long bed.  The remaining 12 seats in the cabin are in a 2-2 configuration and are 20.5” wide.

Seat features include air cushions with adjustable firmness, massage, an area for shoe storage, two 110-volt electrical outlets, and two USB ports.  Each seat has a 15” flat screen with 100 DirectTV channels as well as 100 stations from SiriusXM satellite radio.

JetBlue’s in-flight service in Mint includes a pre-departure drink, an amuse bouche after take-off, and a choice of five dishes served tapas style.  The meal concludes with Marble Ice Cream and fresh bakery desserts.

Passengers will receive their choice of men’s or women’s Birchbox amenity kits, and each seat has a “wake me for service” indicator that allows passengers to sleep uninterrupted if desired.

JetBlue operates Mint service on a sub-fleet of A321 aircraft that, in addition to the lie-flat seats up front, also offer seats in coach with a 10.1” personal video monitor and the same choice of television and satellite radio programs.  The seats also have power outlets and a cup holder.

The first five rows of coach are part of the airline’s premium economy lite offering, Even More Space, and have a seat pitch between 37” and 41”. All coach seats are 18” wide.

JetBlue first launched its Mint service on its New York-Los Angeles route in June 2014, and on its New York-San Francisco route in October of that year. The carrier began Min service between Boston and Los Angeles last month.

Additionally, the carrier plans to add a second daily Mint flight between the two cities later in 2017, as well as Mint service between San Diego and Boston’s Logan International Airport.
