Helijet International plans to start offering weekend flights between Nanaimo and Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada, the company said. Three round trips are set for availability on both Saturdays and Sundays, starting Dec. 24.
The company has experienced an increase in traffic and requests for weekend flights since starting service in Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island about 30 nautical miles west of Vancouver across the Strait of Georgia. Because of this, Richmond, British Columbia-based Helijet said, it felt confident in expanding business to provide flights seven days per week. This increase in service follows the expansion of the Nanaimo heliport.
The helicopter airline and air medical service provider’s fleet includes the Airbus Helicopters AS350B2, the Bell Helicopter LongRanger 206L3, the Sikorsky S-76A, and other fixed-wing aircraft. Helijet has operations in North America and Asia.
