Dany Eshchar, Aeronautics’ deputy chief executive, confirmed that negotiations were under way, but was reluctant to be more specific.

“I can only point to the fact that such a UAV which is actually a civil manned aircraft without a pilot attracts less attention in different situations and is less costly to operate,” he says.

The only known sale of the Dominator XP is to the Mexican government via Balam Security, a Mexican marketing company.

The Dominator XP is a medium-altitude, long-endurance UAV based on a Diamond DA42 Twin Star commercial aircraft.

According to the company, the Dominator XP offers high mean time between failures, similar to the manned aircraft.
