The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved Airbus to continue with their Super Puma line. Their H225s and AS332 L2s have been grounded in Norway and the UK after a fatal crash on the Norwegian coast. Investigators have suggested a second-stage planet gear in the epicyclic module may have disintegrated, causing the crash.

In order for the helicopters to fly again, they have to adhere to safety measures, reports Flight Global. These safety measures include the replacement of a certain type of second-stage planet gear, checking he oil filters, replacement of components after certain amount of hours and after every 10th flight an inspection of the magnetic chip detectors.
