After a year 2016, more oriented towards the development of services, summer 2017 will be under the sign of the novelty and the diversification, as well in terms of destinations as level of the partners of the platform, with a strong development of Holiday and leisure destinations.
Strasbourg International Airport will offer seven new destinations this summer with four new tour operators and companies.
2016 Retrospective
The arrival of the company Flykiss is the highlight of this year-end 2016. The company offers direct flights to Brest and Clermont Ferrand (as well as London Luton via Brest) since November 2016. The year 2016 also marks An important development of the services of the Airport. Indeed, the recent arrival of the travel agency Bey Tour now brings the number of agencies present in the Airport Travel Agency Space to nine. A new and cozy bar "Le Comptoir des saveurs" opened in the arrival area. A new business center was also opened this year with the possibility of booking online a room on the Airport website. An on-line reservation tool for car parks has also been integrated into the airport's website. The signage has been completely redesigned and redesigned. Track repairs were carried out successfully without any impact on traffic. Eatis, a flight school operating on the platform since 2016, has also expanded its premises and installed a fifth flight simulator to meet a growing demand in terms of its activity.
Outlook for 2017
New regular lines
Three new regular airlines arrive! The Aegean, which will offer flights to Athens, Germania, which will offer flights to Palma de Mallorca and TUIfly which will offer the destination Marrakech in regular flight. These three destinations will be accessible once or twice a week from Strasbourg!
Volotea also adds Dubrovnik in Croatia to the map of its network, with one flight per week from the end of May.
Ryanair will offer flights to London Stansted in addition to Porto as of March 26, 2017, twice a week.
New Charter Lines
Tour operator Top of Travel will offer tours to Portugal (from Porto to Faro), Malta and Dubrovnik (on the regular Volotea flight).
The summer of 2017 will also mark the strong development of the tour operator TUI which will offer twelve destinations this summer (vs seven in summer 2016) with unusual destinations departing from Strasbourg, such as Cagliari, Marrakech (on the regular flight TUIfly), Rhodes and Athens (on the regular flight Aegean)! And always Corfu, Olbia in Sardinia, Palermo, Ajaccio, Malaga, Izmir, Palma de Mallorca and Fuerteventura.
The Strasbourg Airport also strengthens its presence with German tour operators by offering a better visibility of products from Strasbourg, notably with L'Tur, AllTours, FTI, VTours and Neckermann (Thomas Cook).
Increases in seat supply
The company Hop! Will reinforce its flights to Lyon with four daily frequencies instead of three, from Monday to Friday. Sunexpress will add an additional weekly flight from June to September on Izmir and Royal Air Maroc will also increase its offer on the Casablanca hub by setting up Boeing 737 on the line. Finally, Volotea will increase its offer on the Bordeaux, Nice and Toulouse destinations.
