The Russian Navy has its first of eight upgraded Russian Helicopters Ka-27Ms, the manufacturer said. With the upgrade, the helicopter has a new command and tactical system, giving it the ability to review the circular and detect ships and submarines. It also has increased detection range and can engage targets. The upgraded variant also features real-time information sharing from ground sources, naval command posts and other helicopters.
All new Russian Helicopters KA-27s are set to be operated on the Black Sea and Northern fleets, as well as the Training Center of the Navy aviation pilots in the city of Yeisk, Russia. There, they are expected to perform in multiple roles. Final delivery is slated for the end of this year.
