The Indian General Administration Department (GAD) will now be holding an open bidding for the purchase of a Rajasthan state helicopter, due to their deal with AgustaWestland not working out.
The deal was put off when the manufacturers Bell and Airbus voiced reservations over the source tenders. They claimed that the Indian Government floated a tender on 21 November that ensured that only AgustaWestland qualified to supply the AW169. Due to the controversy over the deal, they had to put the deal on hold, reports Times of India.
