The FAA has given the 2016 Diamond Award of Excellence to Maverick Helicopters, the operator said. Created to recognize operators and its maintenance technicians for participating in the FAA Aviation Maintenance Technician Awards program, the Award For Excellence comes in a range of levels, from the Bronze Award to the Diamond Award.

This is Maverick’s sixth consecutive Diamond Award for its Las Vegas and Grand Canyon South Rim locations, and the second consecutive award for its Maui, Hawaii, facility since its inception in 2015. The award is given to a selec few organizations that have reached the highest level of program criteria.

Every single one of Maverick Helicopters’ eligible maintenance technicians obtained awards through in-house and factory training, which is a criterion for the Diamond Award. Together, the company’s technicians recorded more than 3,000 hours of training — 2,000 of which were accomplished through Maverick Helicopters’ own training courses.

Flexjet and CAS Components were also Diamond Award winners for 2016.
