Bell Boeing Wins More Osprey Work
The Bell-Boeing Joint Project Office has been awarded $58,319,151 to provide fleet software sustainment for its V-22 Osprey, the U.S. Defense Dept. said Feb. 14. Contracted by the Naval Air Systems Command, the agreement covers engineering and technical support for the flight control system and on-aircraft avionics software; flight-test planning and coordination of changed avionics and flight control configuration; and upgrade planning of avionics and flight controls, including performance of qualification testing and integration testing on software products.
Most of the work is to be performed at Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, with some performed in Fort Worth, Texas. Completion of that work is expected in December 2019. This is a cost-plus-fixed-fee delivery order against a previously issued basic ordering agreement for the Bell Boeing Osprey.
