An Egypt Air Express Embraer ERJ-170, registration SU-GDI performing flight MS392 from Aswan to Cairo (Egypt) with 71 people on board, was climbing out of Aswan when the crew decided to divert to Luxor (Egypt), about 100nm north of Aswan, due to a crack in the first officer's windshield. The aircraft landed safely in Luxor.

Passenger Gustavo Becerra reported they were taken to a hotel to wait for the continuation flight. The occurrence aircraft departed again and reached Cairo at low altitude and low speed with a delay of about 10 hours needing about 90 minutes for the trip from Luxor to Cairo (about 280nm).
