AMS Heli Design now offers of lightweight emergency medical service (EMS) interior for the Leonardo AW119 and AW109, the company said. This solution is designed to be fully removed in less than three minutes.

“I’m proud of the product we have created and presented,” AMS Heli Design CEO Andrea Girolin said. The company displayed the new interior at Heli-Expo last week. “Many customers enthusiastically came back several times asking for a new demo to their pilots, technicians and paramedics — and that was the best gift to us.”

The interior was made with the extensive use of composites and carbon fiber and incorporates a new turret, which allows an articulating stretcher. Night-vision-goggle capabilities, electrical outlets, a high-capacity oxygen system and suction/medical air provisions are also included.

South African Red Cross recently selected AMS Heli Design’s interior for installation on its three Leonardo AW119Kxs and five additional helicopters that are to join the fleet between this year and next.
