Helinet Aviation has added a Sikorsky UH-60A External Stores Support System (ESSS) to its fleet, the company said. It plans to market the new helicopter as “Movie Hawk,” as Helinet said it is the first UH-60 based in Los Angeles that is especially equipped for the movie and TV industry.
“Emulating the look and presence of a special operations MH-60M helicopter,” the company said, “the twin-engine Movie Hawk operated by Helinet is currently the only ESSS model of its kind available within the industry.”
Movie Hawk has the capability to carry authentic inert rockets and gun pods and external fuel tanks, and is equipped with a fast-rope insertion and extraction system. The helicopter also features a military paint scheme. It will be flown by Sikorsky experimental test pilot and SAG member Alex Anduze. He is night-vision-goggle-certificated and is experienced in fast roping and tactical insertions.
Helinet made the announcement in partnership with Brown and Firehawk Helicopters.
