China Eastern Airlines expects to add 191 aircraft to the group's fleet by the end of 2019.

The SkyTeam carrier specifies that it will add 50 aircraft in the second half of 2017, comprising 30 Boeing 737s, 15 Airbus A320-family jets, four A330s and a single 777. During the same period, it will also retire six aircraft.

Thereafter, in 2018, it will add 67 aircraft: 37 737s, 16 A320-family jets, eight A330s, four 787s and two A350s. It will meanwhile retire 15 aircraft (10 A330s, four 767s and one 737).

In 2019, the airline will further pick up its pace and add 74 jets: 38 737s, 25 A320-family jets, six 787s and five A350s. There are no plans to retire any aircraft that year.

As at 30 June, the group operated a fleet of 583 passenger aircraft with an average age of 5.53 years.
