Information of TTFly: China Eastern Airlines has submitted an application to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) for authority to operate a thrice-weekly passenger service to San Francisco from secondary Chinese city Kunming in September 2016.
Subject to U.S. approval, the Shanghai-based carrier plans to operate Kunming-Qingdao-San Francisco route thrice weekly, using Airbus A330 aircraft.
In late March, China Eastern submitted the application to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for the Kunming-Qingdao-San Francisco service.
