Titanium is very active and easily reacts with other materials. only yttrium oxide, a ceramic material, can be used as a casting container.


But its surface is powdery, it is easy to fall off the slag, pollute the titanium-aluminum solution, resulting in insufficient blade accuracy. Scientists in different research fields have spent a full ten years, and after countless failures, they finally formulated a special bond. To prevent the yttrium oxide from dropping slag, solve the problem of the blade container, and realize the integral casting molding. It is necessary to ensure that the performance of each blade can be used safely.

On the engine of the C919 large aircraft, scientific researchers also have to face a series of challenges.

Researcher: "This size has a great impact on the efficiency of this engine. There may be hundreds of sizes on the engine blades. We must ensure that each size needs to meet the requirements. This process control management is also very important."

Recently, my country's new aero-engine blade project has settled in Taicang High-tech Zone, Jiangsu. The preparation and production of titanium-aluminum alloy blades is also progressing in an orderly manner. At present, the titanium-aluminum alloy blades have passed the vibration fatigue assessment, and the overall effect has reached the desired expectations.
