Information of TTFly: A seaplane carrying 10 people hit a bridge and crashed in its debut flight in Shanghai on Wednesday noon, leaving five people dead.
The 9-seat Cessna 208B plane (Registration B-10FW), owned by AVIC Joy General Aviation Co., Ltd, crashed into the No. 7835 Bridge along the Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway around 12:15 p.m., 10 minutes after it took off from Jinshan City Beach for its test flight, reported the Paper.
It is learnt that there are 10 people onboard including two pilots and eight passengers.
With the urgent seach and rescure, all of them were rushed to the Jinshan Hospital after saved from the crashed plane. Five of them were pronounced dead in the hospital. Besides, one was heavily injured, while other four suffered minor injuries.
The captain is 63 years old with over 40 years of flying experiences, ShanghaiDaily reported.
The passengers onboard were reporters and cameramen from local media.
The seaplane that costs about 30 million yuan is scheduled to operate a new shuttle flight route between Zhoushan and the city's Jinshan District.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
