Information of TTFly: Cirrus Aircraft is entering the last phase of an extended flight test campaign to achieve airworthiness certification of the SF50 Vision, a single-engined, seven-seat jet launched eight years ago.

The company is close to beginning a 300h campaign of function and reliability testing, says Ryan Stewart, a Cirrus sales engineer. He likens the SF50’s status to a runner stretching to break the tape at the finish line of a race.

Upon Part 23 certification by the US Federal Aviation Administration, Cirrus plans to ramp up deliveries of the $1.96 million aircraft to between 25-50 within the first 12 months. Another 75-125 deliveries would follow in the second 12 months of production, he says.

Cirrus displayed the first SF50 assigned to a private customer at the Experimental Aircraft Association’s AirVenture fly-in in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
