  • receiver that utilizes the signals coming from Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite constellation and satellite-based augmentation systems (SBAS).  Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) is one example of SBAS.  It also supports EGNOS, MSAS and GAGAN to the extent they are compatible with WAAS.

    These are GPS receiver CCAs designed and conformed to meet the requirements of US FAA TSO C145c and intended to be embedded in various avionics products produced by other manufacturers.  Their primary function is to provide aircraft position, aircraft velocity and precise time and provide the output to the host system, such as a transponder.

    Part numbers 31000S and 33000S share common hardware, but have different software controlled functionality. Both have an SMA-type antenna connector and a 40-pin dual row connector for all other input/output. They both support the RS-232 based NexNav binary interface protocols.

    Part number 31000S conforms to the functional requirements of RTCA DO-229D, Change 1 for WAAS Class Beta 1 articles.  Part number 33000S conforms to the functional requirements of RTCA DO-229D, Change 1 for Class Beta 1, 2, 3 articles.  US FAA TSO C204 approval is pending for both.  All NexNav MAX receivers meet the requirements of US FAA Advisory Circular 20-165B for ADS-B GPS source.
