OVERVIEW
The IPM-MULTI helps to reduce cost and space by minimizing the number of avionics serial I/O boards in your system. The IPM-MULTI supports up to 8 transmit channels, 8 receive channels and provides 8 general purpose discrete I/O lines (DIO). Each channel can be configured as ARINC, Serial ASYNC, HDLC/SDLC and Frequency/Pulse signal generator.
The eight transmit channels feature MAX Technologies’ proprietary Universal Serial Transmitter? (UST) technology. UST channels can output differential waveforms with programmable amplitude, DC level, and slew rate. Each of the transmitters offers programmable parity, word length, and bit rate.
All eight of the receive channels feature MAX Technologies’
proprietary Universal Serial Receiver? (USR) technology.
USR channels have programmable differential input threshold voltages. Receivers can be programmed to filter ARINC 429 incoming messages based on their labels. In addition, receivers can detect parity and short-word errors.
Carrier Board Support
The functionality of the IPM-MULTI is further enhanced by the power of MAX Technologies’ line of intelligent multi-platform (PCI, CPCI and PXI) carrier boards. All modules and carrier boards are synchronized and time correlated to 32-bit microsecond-resolution.
Software Support
The MX-Foundation library provides high-level abstraction of hardware and allows to easily control mixed protocols and I/O modules on one or multiple carrier boards.
