Training Packages:
We don't guarantee a price for a Multi-Engine training package, but have found that pilots who show up prepared can realistically accomplish the ratings in the following manner. Check rides are currently running $450-500 for multi-engine, so be sure to plan for that expense.
Initial Multi-engine
VFR may take an hour two less, IFR may take an hour or so more
Aircraft: 10 hours at $2850
Flight Instruction: 10 hours at $600
Pre/post flight and ground instruction time: 13 hours at $780
Full-Size flight sim: 3 hours at $327 ($109/hr)
Total: $4557 (no sales tax is charged for any training or flight time)
Initial Commericial Multi-engine
Consider obtaining your multi-engine commercial rating prior to your single-engine initial commercial rating. The checkride is almost identical to the initial MEL rating, however the prerequisites are increased.
Aircraft: 20 hours at $5700
Flight Instruction: 20 hours at $1200
Pre/post flight and ground instruction time: 20 hours at $1200
Full-Size flight sim: 3 hours at $327 ($109/hr)
Total: $8427 (no sales tax is charged for any training or flight time)
Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)

Aircraft: 6 hours at $1710
Flight Instruction: 6 hours at $600
Pre/post flight and ground instruction time: 4 hours at $240
Full-Size flight sim: 3 hours at $327 ($109/hr)
Total: $2877 (no sales tax is charged for any training or flight time)
This is a realistic cost of obtaining your multi-engine ratings, and is possible for students who use the provided study materials to study for the course prior to their arrival. If additional time is needed, it is charged at the standard rates of $285/hr for aircraft, $60/hr for instruction, and $49/hr for simulator.
End-of-course check ride fees are paid directly to the examiner.
Overview of Multi-Engine Rating Course
In our multi-engine courses you will acquire the skills to safely pilot a multi-engine aircraft.
The first day of the course will consist of all the necessary ground school. Utilize our multi-engine simulator ($49/hr) to equip you with the knowledge and understanding of the procedures that you will use in the aircraft. Our iGATE advanced ATD is an indispensable tool that will enable you to learn more efficiently and effectively, allowing you to practice the required maneuvers and experience various possible emergency flight scenarios, while learning to effectively analyze and manage these situations. Thorough training in the simulator will maximize your training in the aircraft.
This is an instrument-intensive course (unless you are a VFR pilot), so your instrument proficiency level will greatly affect your level of success in the course. We recommend arriving a day early for an instrument refresher if you are not instrument proficient/current. If you choose not to use this option, please be sure to familiarize yourself with the ILS 10R, RNAV (GPS) 10R, and VOR DME 10R instrument approaches into the Boise Airport.
Day 2 and 3 will be spent in the Seneca III, for 6 to 8 hours of flight time.
Day 4 is reserved for your multi-engine checkride. (1.5 - 2.0 hrs approx.)

Private pilot certificate
IFR proficiency (if completing IFR multi-engine program).

Your success in this course is heavily dependent on your self-study prior to arrival. The make and model quiz is a key prerequisite, as well as a good understanding of the questions and answers in the oral exam guide.
Options:
Additional training per hour in aircraft: $285/hr plus $60/hr for instruction.
Examiner Fee for checkride: $450-$500 (not included in course fee)
