The Multi-Engine Rating allows a pilot to fly an aircraft with more than one engine. In doing so, it opens the door to larger, faster, higher performance, more complex aircraft. A prospective pilot may conduct their initialPrivate Pilot or Commercial Pilot training in a Multi-Engine aircraft, however far more common is to “add on” a Multi-Engine Rating onto an existing Single-Engine Private Pilot or Single-Engine Commercial Pilot certificate. The reasons for this are for both simplicity and cost.

Training will consist of both classroom sessions on the ground as well as sessions in both the flight simulator and in the aircraft. All flights will be training flights with an instructor on board. No FAA Written Exam is necessary. Upon completion of the training you will take a license exam.

What Can You Do With A Multi-Engine Add-On Rating?

The Multi-Engine Rating will allow an existing Single-Engine Private Pilot or Single-Engine Commercial Pilot to exercise their respective privileges in aircraft with more than one engine. This includes instrument rating privileges.

For our multi-engine training we use a beautiful 1962 Piper Apache-Geronimo with brand new engines and a completely new panel which includes all new gauges and a Garmin GTN650 touch screen!
