This license will allow you to fly yourself and if you choose, to bring a friend (or date, spouse, kid, etc!). You will be legal to fly a plane categorized as a Light Sport Aircraft during daylight hours in clear weather. You may fly cross-country to any location in the US!

Personal Requirements:
Be 17 Years of Age
Read, write, speak and understand English
Hold a Medical Certificate (Note: The FAA requires at least a Driver’s License, but GCA policy is for all students and renters to posses a current medical)
Pass a FAA Sport Pilot Written Test
Pass a FAA Sport Pilot Practical Test
While the sport pilot license above is achievable in the time listed, it is more typical for beginning pilots to take a bit longer to build their proficiency. A better average would be 22 hours dual flight time, and 8 hours solo. The rule of thumb: Flying more often equates to faster progress.
