  • Description
  • If you have decided to learn to fly you possess a very unique quality, the desire to exceed your own expectations in life, journey into the unknown and push your own personal boundaries. You have chosen to explore a feeling that doesn’t come natural to a human being. A feeling you will eventually treasure and hopefully pass on.

Your drive may come from being airborne or in control of a man-made flying machine. You may be a dreamer with the aspiration to explore new horizons; we are here to fulfil your desires.

Under our guidance and supervision we will take you through the minimum 45 flying hours set by the Civil Aviation Authority and nine theoretical exams before presenting you for a flight test with one of our Flight Examiners. Achieving your private pilot’s licence will not require extra special skills but only the desire and determination to succeed.

PPL pilots come from all backgrounds. You could be a doctor, builder, teacher, bus driver ,bank director, security guard, chef, IT specialist or a student. You can start flight training at any age but your flying hours will only count from the age of 14, you are allowed to take a flight test at the age of 16 and get the licence at the age of 17.

After that you can fly as long as you have class 2 medical. Good example is Mr Houlder.

Mr Houlder use to run Elstree aerodrome, he continued to fly into his 90s and was the oldest licenced pilot in the country.
